Harry Potter Blue and Gold

Ok so I have to admit that I ave some amazingly talented friends. They truly inspire me. I decided since I am a cub master I wanted to try to do something creative. I do not think of myself as someone that is very crafty. I try but more times than not I am far better in the kitchen and I am aright with that. I have had several people tell me that I should create a blog page for what I have been working on. I have seen so many other ideas for Harry Potter birthday parties and other fun food ideas. Nothing for cub scouts. This is not an affiliated site but my idea for a fun way to travel to a different land. I decided we would go to Hogwarts. Each boy was given a letter inviting them to our special event and then the Journey begins.

Welcome to Platform 9 3/4 Where our journey begins. We decided to also do our carnival activity. We have a potion room with sprite and pop rocks, a photo room with a Prisoner of Azkaban prop, a flying dragon airplane, decorate a house tie, and last but not least make your own quill like Harry Potter's.

This melted candle with trifold Harry Potter quotes is our center piece with Hershey kisses used as the Dememntor's kiss sprinkled around. Everyone cane use a little chocolate to feel better. This is made using a toilet paper roll, hot glue, and some paint.

These are the wands I made. I wanted them all to be different. I used the wooden chopsticks and hot glue to create them. Some have buttons on the bottom. Just like every boy is different so is every wand. The wand chooses the boy. These are painted with metallic brown paint and the designs are painted wth metallic gold, bronze, and silver paint.
These are the treat bags for the new incoming cub scouts to welcome them into our pack and to get them excited for all the magical fun they can have while in Cub Scouts. Each Cub Scout was also given an award and a wand. I wanted everyone to get something even if they haven't earned anything yet because this is like a birthday party.

Like Harry used the Marauder's Map we have an Arrow of Light Map. I made this as something that the boys who had earned their Arrow of Lights to help with in the ceremony to go along with our theme. There are other parts that will be added during the ceremony. I used the different prints of the Bobcat, Wolf, Bear, and Webelos that take us on our journey to earn this amazing award in Cub Scouts.
