Buns

1 tbsp yeast
1 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp honey
½ c warm water

Dissolve yeast, sugar, and honey in warm water and let sit about 5 minutes.

½ c apple sauce or oil
½ tsp salt
½ tsp onion powder
1 ¼ c warm water
3 c whole wheat flour
2 ½ c all purpose flour

Stir remaining ingredients and let raise about 1 hour or until doubled in size. Dough will be sticky. Use some all purpose flour to shape into desired size. Let rise about 30 more minutes and bake at 400 degrees for 11-15 minutes or until golden brown. ( These are a little more firm and makes it so they don't break so easy when you put burgers and other condiments on them).
